Our Puppy Process

Our puppies are $2300 for LIMITED registration and $2800 for FULLregistration. They are AKC registered. Our adults have passed genetic and OFA testing. Therefore you will receive 1 year health guarantee against any genetic conditions or diseases. You will receive a Puppy package take home gift from us with food, AKC papers, toy and small blanket with moms scent so the puppies transition is a little easier. Once you have received a pup from us, you will be added to our private Claypit's group on Facebook (if you have Facebook). You will be part of our family, where we offer a life long commitment to our dogs, no matter what age. This page is made for our puppy families only. It can be used to post updates, pictures and ask for advice. Pups will be ready for their new homes at 10 weeks and will have had their first vaccinations and dewormed. You will be required to sign a contract stating that if for ANY reason you can't continue to care for your dog, they will be returned to me without a refund. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will you be allowed to re-home, sell or surrender your pup for any reason. If you're not willing to sign that, you will not receive a pup from us. Legal action will be taken if this contract is broken.

If you're still interested in getting a pup from us and you've never owned a Newfoundland or any other large dog, please do some research to make sure they will be a good fit. I will post a page below as what to expect.

At this time I will not be taking deposits or have a waiting list until a litter is born. Then I will contact people interested, when a puppy is chosen then I will require a $300 deposit fee that will go towards the balance of your pup at pickup.

So you think you want a Newfie….

Newfoundlands Drool

Newfoundlands drool, it's in their genetics. Some Drool more than others. There is no such thing as a DRY MOUTHED Newfoundland!

Newfoundlands shed

Newfoundlands shed a lot. They shed daily, but there is 2 times a year when they shed excessively which as known as blowing their coat. They shed their winter coat to prepare for the warm summer and also shed their cooler summer coat to prepare for their winter growth.

Whether you decide to groom yourself or take them to a groomer, it's a good idea to invest in some grooming tools. I listed some of my favorites below.

Slicker brush- these are great for removing knots, mats and dirt.

Rake- the absolute best at removing loose hair from their undercoats.

Comb - I use one of these for when I line comb. Line combing is a technique where you take small sections, starting at the root and ending at the tip. This is also a great way to get a ton of undercoat out.

They are expensive

Since Newfies are double or triple the size of the average dog, their cost of medical bills, grooming, and food are also more.

Newfoundlands need training

Newfoundlands are known to be Gentle Giants due to their loving demeaner and how devoted they are. They are loyal, strong and easy to train and training is a must. It is easy to forget when we first get these cuddable bundles of fluff that they will soon turn into incredibly rowdy adolescents around 6 months. It’s the teenage years combined with the terrible two’s, which can be a lot to handle for first time Newfie owners. The meme below is a perfect explanation of a Newfies life stages.

You can’t have just one

What is better than one Newfie?

Two or more

You can start with one for a bit but eventually, you’ll get Newfie fever!

More fun

More money

More work, but we definitely love it!

After reading the above information if you still are interested in a puppy, our contract is below
